Psychotherapy and Psychiatric Care
I provide psychotherapy and psychiatric care for adults in my office in Menlo Park and via telehealth throughout the state of California. My practice focuses on thoughtful, individualized care that integrates depth-oriented psychotherapy with psychiatric expertise.
Treatment may involve psychotherapy alone or a combination of psychotherapy and medication, depending on each patient’s needs, preferences, and goals.
Areas of Treatment
I work with adults seeking help with a range of concerns, including:
Anxiety, stress, and related conditions
Depression and mood difficulties
Trauma-related experiences
Relationship and interpersonal challenges
Life transitions
Questions of identity, meaning, and direction
Many patients come not only for symptom relief, but for a deeper understanding of themselves and their patterns of relating.
Getting Started
I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to answer questions about the practice and to determine whether working together may be a good fit. If it seems appropriate to proceed, we will schedule an initial consultation.
Initial Consultation
Treatment begins with a 45-minute initial consultation. This first meeting provides an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to seek help, review important aspects of your personal and psychiatric history, and begin thinking together about what approach may be most helpful.
Prior to the consultation, you will be asked to complete brief intake forms that provide background information about your history, past treatment, and current concerns. This allows our first meeting to focus more fully on understanding your experience and the questions you are bringing.
For many patients, the consultation naturally becomes the beginning of ongoing psychotherapy. Over time, we continue to develop a fuller understanding of your history, patterns, and goals as the work unfolds.
Ongoing Treatment
Psychotherapy sessions are 45 minutes in length and typically occur once per week, though some patients may benefit from meeting more frequently depending on their needs and goals.
Sessions may take place in person in Menlo Park or via secure telehealth for patients located in California.
Medication Treatment
As a physician, I also provide psychiatric evaluation and medication treatment when appropriate. Medication can sometimes play an important role in reducing symptoms and supporting the therapeutic process.
Decisions about medication are made thoughtfully and collaboratively, with careful attention to each patient’s goals, preferences, and overall well-being.
When appropriate, treatment may also include attention to lifestyle factors such as sleep, exercise, and stress, as well as the use of mindfulness-based approaches to support overall well-being.
Fees and Insurance
My practice is out-of-network with insurance. Patients pay directly for sessions, and I provide a superbill that may be submitted to insurance for possible reimbursement depending on your plan.
