Psychotherapy and Psychiatric Care
I provide psychotherapy and psychiatric care for adults in my office in Menlo Park and via telehealth throughout California. My practice offers thoughtful, individualized treatment that integrates psychotherapy with psychiatric expertise.
Some patients seek psychotherapy-centered treatment focused on deeper self-understanding and emotional growth. Others seek ongoing psychiatric care and medication treatment informed by a reflective, psychodynamic perspective. For many patients, treatment involves an integration of psychotherapy and medication management over time. When appropriate, treatment may also include attention to lifestyle factors such as sleep, exercise, and stress, as well as the use of mindfulness-based approaches to support overall well-being.
The work is collaborative and tailored to each patient’s individual needs, goals, and circumstances.
Areas of Treatment
I work with adults seeking help with concerns including anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, trauma-related experiences, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and questions of identity, meaning, and direction.
Getting Started
I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation to answer questions about the practice and to determine whether working together may be a good fit.
Prior to an initial appointment, patients complete brief intake forms that provide background information regarding current concerns, treatment history, medications, and relevant aspects of personal and psychiatric history.
Psychiatric Care and Medication Treatment
Patients seeking ongoing psychiatric care or medication treatment generally begin with a 90-minute initial evaluation session that allows time for careful assessment and discussion of treatment goals. Ongoing medication management visits are typically 25 minutes in length. The frequency of follow-up visits varies depending on each patient’s specific needs, medications, and stage of treatment.
Psychotherapy and Combined Treatment
Psychotherapy and combined-treatment sessions are 45 minutes in length and generally occur at least weekly in order to support continuity and depth in the therapeutic process. Some patients may benefit from meeting more frequently depending on their individual needs and goals. For many patients, the consultation naturally becomes the beginning of ongoing psychotherapy. Over time, we continue to develop a fuller understanding of your history, patterns, and goals as the work unfolds.
Fees and Insurance
My practice is out-of-network with insurance. Patients pay directly for sessions, and I provide a superbill that may be submitted to insurance for possible reimbursement depending on your plan.
